Water Dragon Update August

There have been no major changes in nessie's condition.  Although active he still twitches and trembles and I even found him on his back the other night.  He must have fallen off his log and couldn't turn over.  I have been treating him with calcium and the correct UVB spectrum for 3 months now and he is still not a normal reptile.  Reptiles in general take a long time to get sick and a longer time to get better again.  Their metabolism is slow and this affects their whole life process.  If a reptile breaks a bone, it is at least 12 weeks before it heals, whereas a mammal will be 3-4 weeks.  I'm hopeful that Nessie will eventually get well and with the warmer weather coming, I'm planning on getting him out into the sunlight during the day time for some natural light.
